A textured, weathered painting with shades of light blue and gray, depicting a distressed, peeling surface.

Portfolio.

Lauren O’Sullivan’s practice is rooted in earth pigments, clay, terracotta, basalt, plant dyes, and natural resins—materials that carry their own histories of erosion, resilience, and renewal. Through experimental processes of grinding, layering, and blending, she allows the rawness of these elements to guide the work, revealing organic forms that echo both the body and the land.

Her art explores the integration of our wild nature and the necessity of meeting it fully on the healing journey. Each piece is a mirror, reflecting cycles of time, memory in the body, and the shadows we must encounter to move toward wholeness.

These works are at once fragile and elemental, shaped by chance and intention, process and imperfection. In their surfaces, cracks, and layers, deeper emotions emerge—reminders of our interconnection with nature, our ancestral roots, and the transformative path between darkness and light.
